Archery!!! (Featuring a 10 target 3D woods walk & Schutzenfest!!!)
Target Archery Schutzenfest!! For the second year, the Fall Schutzenfest will take place at Hunt for the White Stag. It will be a 10-station woods walk and there are 3 divisions: Open Handbow, Period Handbow, Crossbow. Participation in the Schutzenfest is not mandatory for trying out the woods walk. We will have specially marked score sheets. Just let the marshal know whether you’ll compete or not. Make sure to wear good walking shoes and bring water and bug spray.
Youth Archery: Most of the targets are youth-friendly. Loaner gear is available for kids ages 5-18. Special participation prizes for all kids.
Schedules
Target Archery
10:00-5:00 Check-in, Warm-ups and Novelty shoots and tournaments running throughout the day.
Novelty Tournament – William Marshal Style
In this tournament, you will choose your fellow “combatant” and challenge them to a little one-on-one duel. Your goal is to collect as many beads as you can by the end of the day. The primary purpose is to have fun, while also allowing you to have friendly little competitions with each other.
Guidelines:
- One bead for each shoot you try out on your own (solo). No extra bead for trying the same target more than once.
- Bonus bead if you try a different weapon style. For example:
- Archer chooses to try out a thrown weapons target. You get one bead for throwing at the target, a second bead for it being outside your expertise
- If you choose to “challenge” another,
- Both of you get one bead for participating in the duel
- If under 30 yards, winner gets one other bead
- If 30 yards or more, winner gets two beads (potentially, the winner will gain 3 beads total)
- You may challenge the same person at the same target multiple times.
- The person with the most beads at the end of the day wins. Note: It is possible to collect the most beads if you issued the most challenges, even if you don’t win them all.
