Unto Their Majesties Tsar Ivan and Tsaritsa Katalena, Their Highnesses Kilian Fendrich and Jalida al-Hasannah, Their Excellencies Sir Louis LeCoffrier and Sir Sadb ingen Donnchadha, and the populace of the Barony of Roaring Wastes do we, Thorold of Marinus and Marion of the Roaring Wastes, send greetings.
We humbly present this letter as a sign of our eligibility and desire to serve as Territorial Baron and Baroness of Roaring Wastes, fulfilling all the duties and responsibilities thereof.
Our vision for the barony centers around our desire to continue welcoming all individuals who live within the baronial borders and wish to participate in all our activities. We would like to encourage newer members to become deputies or shadow our current baronial officers in order to maintain a flexible and thriving organization. We also wish to enhance all facets of the community by encouraging all the areas of martial activities, arts and sciences or service starting at the baronial level and expanding from there. We believe with the growth of the populace we can strengthen the bonds and continue its success and vitality.
We are aware of the responsibilities that come with this role and are prepared to dedicate the time and effort necessary to fulfill these duties. We look forward to the future and growth of the barony and are eager to engage with the populace to address any concerns and represent the barony with humility and integrity.
Thorold and Marion started their SCA journey in the Kingdom of Atlantia around 2004. We took some time away from the Society to raise our two boys. We decided to renew our membership and rejoin the society in 2021 at the decline of the pandemic. Since then we have both been active with the barony and have enjoyed the new friends we have met.
Upon our first Pennsic back (49) we both received a Dragon Tooth for our efforts in the CA and siege battle. We then received our Award of Arms during the Twelfth Night in 2023.
Thorold enjoys the melee. He has received a baronial Westrel from the Barony for all his service to the barony.
Marion has enjoyed doing Combat Archery and has served as Commander of Pentamere for Pennsic 51. She has also received the award of Eddington Cross from the Barony. She has made candles for the barony for the past two years for Pennsic.
In their life out of the society Thorold works as a In House Laser Technician at Trumpf Industries. He troubleshoots clients marking lasers to keep them running and a multitude of industries, anything from medical to automotive. Marion works hard at taking care of the household and family. She enjoys many hobbies including embroidery, sewing, knitting and many others.
Thank you for your consideration Yours In Service,
Thorold of Marinus
Marion of the Roaring Wastes
